LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. — A Lincoln County teen is facing child sex assault charges after meeting a child on the social media app Snapchat, according to detectives.
Detectives charged Erik Rodriguez, 18, of Lincolnton, on October 18th. The report was filed on October 9th by the parents of a 13-year-old female, according to a news release.
Deputies say the victim and the suspect met and began talking on Snapchat and eventually met in person at the victim’s residence.
Rodriguez placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond.
