A moist cold front will push across the area overnight bringing light to moderate showers to the region. Cooler air will settle in for the second half of the weekend. We could see some lingering rain and snow showers by early Sunday across Western North Carolina into the afternoon. Total snow accumulation for the Mountains will be less than half an inch, if that. We will warm slightly each day this upcoming work week and should return to more seasonable temperatures through Thursday.

Sunday night: Mostly clear. Patchy frost possible. Windy and cold. Low 33. W 7-15 mph. Gusts up to 24 mph.

Monday: Sunny and Cool with a light breeze. High 61. W 8 mph.
