Wilson’s World: At the Carolinas Aviation Museum Previewing the 2017 Salute to Veterans Parade

The 2017 Veterans Day Parade begins this Saturday, November 4th at 11:00am.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at the Carolinas Aviation Museum this morning where he was not only checking out the planes, but he was also giving us a preview of this year’s Veterans Day Parade that will be held tomorrow. He was joined by veterans who talked about how important the Veterans Day Parade is to them and how much it means when someone comes up to thank them for their service.

Each year Carolinas Freedom Foundation and American Airlines sponsor the salute to our veterans.  With over 2,000 participants the parade will showcase local middle and high school bands, the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program units, active military units, antique cars and veteran organizations. The parade begins at 11am at 700 North Tryon Street (Tryon & 9th Street).

Founded in 1995 the Carolinas Freedom Foundation  was created to inspire patriotism and leadership in our community, especially in our youth while honoring our veterans as well as our current men and women in uniform.

The Carolinas Aviation Museum is located at Charlotte Douglas Airport.  Next weekend on Saturday, Nov 11th Flight 1549 Passenger Dan Vinton will be at the museum sharing his personal experience as a part of the Miracle on the Hudson.  Get more information about the museum and their events at their website carolinasaviation.org.
