Wilson’s World: Previewing the Showmars Showdown at Johnson & Wales University

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at Johnson & Wales University this morning to preview the Showmars Showdown taking place in their kitchens today.

Greg Photolous with Showmars joined Wilson to explain the competition and the prizes the winner will received.

Chef Ray Zollar, professor at Johnson & Wales, talked about the contest that includes recipes for entrees, flatbreads, desserts and more. Some of the students participating joined Wilson to talk about their entries and how excited they are to be part of the contest.  The contestants will be judged on presentation, flavor, diversity of ingredients, texture, and taste.  A special panel will be judging the competition.

The student who wins the Showdown will go home with a check for $3,500 and their dish will be offered on Showmars menu for a limited time.

Wilson will be emceeing the event today and was awarded Showmars’ “Best Host Award.”  And boy did he enjoy rubbing it in.
