Cabarrus County Teacher Arrested For Having Inappropriate Relationship With Student

CONCORD, N.C. — Police say they arrested a 23-year-old teacher for having an inappropriate consensual relationship with a student.

Cox Mill High School teacher, Katherine Ridenhour, has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a student.

Investigators say Ridenhour was in a relationship with a 17-year-old student.  She was taken before a Cabarrus County Magistrate where she received a written promise to appear in court.

An official with Cabarrus County Schools says Ridenhour resigned on November 14th.  She began working for the district in April 2016 as a family and consumer science teacher, according to a statement.
