A cold front will bring rain showers across the area overnight into Sunday morning. The mountains could see between a quarter to half an inch of rain, along with gusts as high as 45 mph; little to no snow accumulation is expected. The Piedmont will see between a tenth to a quarter inch of rain, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Drier weather is expected for the second half of the weekend as cool high pressure builds. High temperatures will remain below average, topping out in the mid-upper 50’s. Dry and cool weather should stay with us through much of the holiday week.
