CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The CMPD is investigating an attempted kidnapping at the Southern Christmas Show, on Saturday night.
On November 18th, 2017, officers were called to reports of an attempted kidnapping in the 800 block of Briar Creek Road at the Park Expo
Police say a man tried to walk off with an 11-year-old girl, as she was walking with her family at the Southern Christmas Show. Witnesses approached the man, who let go of the girl and fled the scene.
The child was unharmed in the incident.
The man is described as possibly Middle Eastern, about five feet eight, weighing between 150-170 pounds wearing a blue shirt and red beanie. Witnesses also say he was with a woman, who was also possibly Middle Eastern, pushing a stroller
The case is under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
