Continued Cold, Rain And Snow Possible Friday
Thursday will be cloudy and cool with highs struggling to warm into the low 50s. Clouds will thicken Thursday night with scattered showers developing late, overnight lows in the 30s. Cloudy skies with on and off periods of light rain is expected Friday with highs in the low 40s. Snow will be likely in the mountains with a rain/snow mix along I-40. As the rain gradually tapers off Friday night, rain will mix with snow in all areas. With a warm ground, limited moisture, and marginally cold temperatures, little if any snow will accumulate in Charlotte. The best chance for a slushy inch will be along I-40 and points north and west. Dry conditions return Saturday with temperatures remaining below average.
