Wilson’s World: Enjoying the Holidays at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens
DSBG will feature their Holidays at the Garden Christmas through December 31st.
BELMONT, N.C. – Wilson visited Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens a couple of months ago to give us a behind the scenes look at the Chinese Lantern Festival and today he is back there to take us inside the new Holidays at the Garden Christmas Light Exhibit.
Patrick Larkin, Executive Director of DSBG joined Wilson on a tour around the lighted gardens and inside to the Orchid Conservatory to show us just a portion of the beautiful lights and decorations.
Wilson also visited with Mrs. Claus who took time out of her busy schedule to chat with Wilson about her work at the gardens and the model train displays created by the Metrolina Model Railroaders that can be found throughout the Garden.
Each night visitors can also enjoy live music, food and beverages (including coffee, hot chocolate, beer and wine). Do a little holiday shopping in The Garden Store and let the kids enjoy the Children’s Holiday Discovery Trail of activities.
Horse-drawn carriage rides will be available from Southern Breezes Carriages from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Sunday through Dec. 31 and also Dec. 18-20. Carriage rides are $6/adult, $4/child 3-10, and free for children under 3. The Garden Tram will be available for rides on evenings when the carriages are not available and rides are free with admission from 6 to 9 p.m.
Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens Holiday at the Garden Christmas Light display is open daily through December 31st (closed on Christmas Day) from 5pm until 9pm. For ticket information and times for visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, go to their website at dsbg.org.
