Wilson’s World: Finding out More about Beds for Kids

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – This morning Wilson was in the middle of a large warehouse that is temporarily housing beds, linens and furniture, all a part of Beds for Kids.

Daniel Fogarty, Executive Director with Beds for Kids, talked with Wilson about the great need bedroom furniture for kids inΒ  Charlotte-Mecklenburg County.Β  Between 15,000 and 17,000 children who are in homes do not have basic sleeping furnishings. The Beds for Kids mission is to provide beds and essential furniture to kids and their families that are transitioning from homelessness to a permanent home.

Beds for Kids refurbishes and re-purposes new and gently used beds and essential furniture items that have been donated from individuals, institutions and corporations.

This month they are in the middle of their Thousand Bed Challenge.Β  They are halfway there.Β  For abut $150 Beds for Kids can provide a new mattress, box spring and frame for a child in need.
