Lancaster Horse Shot And Killed, Owners Offering $1,000 Reward For Information

LANCASTER, S.C. — The owners of a horse that died after being shot in the head are offering $1,000 for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the horse’s death.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says on Saturday, November 18, 2017, a deputy was responded to 5375 Old Church Road Old just north of Lancaster, South Carolina.

The owners say they found their horse, Boss, dead from an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

After reveiwing surveillance footage, the owners believe the horse received the injury around 3 a.m. and went down the last time around 8 a.m.

A vehicle pulling a trailer passed the property at least three times that night.

The trailer had reflective tape on the side.

Sheriff Barry Faile said, “We want to help the owners find out what happened to
Boss and hold the person who did this accountable. We hope someone saw or heard
something that night or has heard talk in the community and encourage anyone with
information about this to contact us.”
