Wilson’s World: The 2017 Subway Salvation Army Angel Tree Project is a Huge Success

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – WCCB-TV, Subway and the Salvation Army have had a record year for the Subway Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign for the 2017 Christmas season!   Wilson was at the Salvation Army distribution center where at 8am they opened for the  over 6,000 families  that will come in to the distribution center over the next 4 days.  For Wilson, it was as exciting as Christmas morning.

For the sixth year area Subway restaurants partnered with the Salvation Army and WCCB for the virtual Angel Tree.  Over 1,000 angels were adopted from the WCCB’s virtual on-line Angel Tree with thousands more being adopted from the Angel Tree pick-up locations at Subway Restaurants though out the viewing area.

The Spokesgroup who has worked with the Angel Tree for many years and has again donated bikes adding over 3,200 bikes to the thousands already donated.

Carolinas Healthcare has been a partner with the Angel Tree with volunteers to help with the distribution to the families as they come in.

Please don’t forget that the Salvation Army Red Kettles are still out in the community.  Donations are still needed for the holidays.

WCCB would like to thank  Acosta Heating & Cooling, Two Men and a Truck and SouthPark Mall for their help during the Subway Salvation Army Angel Tree campaign as well.
