On Tuesday, a jury found Terrell Thomas guilty in the 2015 case of a Cabarrus County rest stop robbery and shooting that left one man paralyzed.
Thomas was sentenced to 23-30 years behind bars following the jury’s verdict.
He was found guilty of Attempted First Degree Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, and Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon.

CABARRUS COUNTY, N.C. — Officials say the second suspect accused of shooting and paralyzing a man at a rest stop in Cabarrus County has been transported back to North Carolina to face charges.
Terrell Thomas has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury and robbery with a dangerous weapon.
The shooting happened in a rest area bathroom off I-85 on November 28th. The victim, Greg McKee, was shot twice and paralyzed from the waist down.
Thomas was taken into custody in New York. He is now being held in the Cabarrus County Detention Center on a $3M bond.
Police say another man, Darren Manuel, was also involved in the shooting. He was arrested in Charlotte a week after the crime. He is facing attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury charges.
