Wilson’s World: Talking Project One Scholarships at Amelie’s in NoDa
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was in NoDa this morning where he was thawing out at Amelie’s French Bakery & Cafe and checking out their new seasonal menu items and learning more about the Project One Scholarship Program.
While at Amelie’s Wilson talked with Neal Emmons, founder of the Project One Scholarship Fund, and their board chair, Ed Haynes. Both gentlemen talked about Project One and how the local non-profit helps kids from low-income families attend college using scholarships and support programs.
Marquis Drayton who is a Project One Scholar attending UNC Chapel Hill stopped by and talked about his participation with the Program One Scholarship program and how the program helped him to develop.
The application process begins the end of January and runs through the end of March. Project One looks for the serious student with a 3.0 GPA that are active in their school and after school activities.
