Wilson’s World: Visiting Carolina Synchro Swim Team at Huntersville Fitness & Aquatics

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. –  Synchronised Swimming is not only a collegiate sport, but has been a part of the Olympics since 1984.  Wilson was at Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics this morning to find out more about the water sport with the members of Carolina Synchro.

Considered to be one of the most physically demanding Olympic sports, swimmers must be flexible, creative and very much a part of their team.  Some of the girls talked about the sport and how much they enjoy being a part of the team.

Carolina Synchro was established in 2009.  It is comprised of swimmers from 6 years of age to 19.  Carolina Synchro medal regularly in the annual Regional Championships.  They have qualified for and competed in the National Junior Olympic Championships since 2011 and the US Nationals since 2016.

Some of the swimmers gave Wilson a look at part of their routine as they are getting ready for the Rising Stars Invitational on April 21 & 22 at Huntersville Family Fitness & Aquatics.  Some of the students were also getting ready to head out of town for competition later today.
