Wilson’s World: Piedmont Culinary Guild at Myers Park High School

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –   The Piedmont Culinary Guild has teamed up with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools to create  “Chefs for Change.”   Wilson was at Myers Park High this morning learning more about “Chefs for Change” and the Piedmont Culinary Guild.

“Chefs for Change” program pairs local PCG chefs with school cafeteria staff and culinary-arts educators to provide additional staffing, professional development and expand menus for schools in eight CMS middle and high schools.   Culinary students and teachers talked with Wilson about the program.

Representative Alma Adams joined Wilson in one of the school’s greenhouses to talk about her desire  to establish a grant program for aquaponics greenhouses to get GAP certified so they can provide produce to people in areas of need.

More information on the Piedmont Culinary Guild can be found on their website piedmontculinaryguild.com as well as information on  “Chefs for Change.”
