Woman Charged With Making Bomb Threats At East Alexander Middle School

ALEXANDER COUNTY, N.C. — Deputies say they received a report in reference to someone threatening to place bombs at East Alexander Middle School.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect in this case told others about the bomb and that law enforcement “better hope they find them before they go off.”

School was dismissed Monday, March 12th at 9am due to inclement weather.  Deputies notified school personnel about the threat and searched the school.  Nothing was found during the search.

The suspect, Barbara Sherill, 29, of Lenoir, was arrested and charged with one felony county of false report of mass violence on education property, according to a news release.

She was placed in jail under a $20,000 bond.
