Man Charged In South Charlotte Armed Robbery

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say they arrested a man for his involvement in an armed robbery in south Charlotte.

Investigators say the robbery happened at the Verizon Wireless store on Feb. 16th just before 1pm.  Officers were advised that two suspects entered the business and brandished weapons.  During the robbery, police say the suspects assaulted three victims before taking their personal property.

During the investigation, detectives identified Craven Withers as one of the suspects.  He was arrested on March 13th and charged with four counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon, attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and 2nd degree kidnapping.
