The CMPD has charged Jeffrey Javon Boggs, of Rock Hill, with the murder of 31-year-old Demarco Trayvon Pegues.
Boggs, 24, was apprehended at a hotel on Lucky Penny Street in Charlotte and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with First Degree Murder, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Communicating Threats.
Detectives say the suspect and victim were acquaintances but police have not determined a motive for the homicide.
The case is still under investigation.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police are investigating a homicide in southwest Charlotte. Officers responded to the call just before 12pm on South Tryon Street between I-485 and Arrowood Road.
Officers say they located 31-year-old Demarco Trayvon Pegues inside a vehicle and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Pegues was pronounced dead on the scene.
Homicide detectives are currently trying to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident.
