Teenagers Accused In String Of Violent Crimes

CHARLOTTE, NC — Teenagers arrested, accused in a string of violent crimes, shooting and robbing people across Charlotte, according to CMPD

Police arrested four teenagers Monday for robbing and shooting people in three separate crimes in March.

Police say 16-year-old Chavis Davis, 16-year-old William Allison, a 15-year-old and a 14-year-old robbed a child in Hornets Nest Park on Beatties Ford Rd. before 2:00 on Thursday afternoon.

Police didn’t release the name of the 14-year-old and 15-year-old suspects because they are not charged as adults.

The 16-year-old victim asked to remain anonymous but says the boys walked up to his car, opened the door, turned off the key, put a gun to his head and demanded his phone.

That month, police say the kids also robbed a man at work, landscaping a yard on Elderbank Dr. and shot a man near a McDonald’s on Albemarle Rd. on a Sunday morning.

“What are you doing? said Will Adams. “Where are your parents at?”

Adams created team Trublue to mentor troubled teens. He points out, last week, police arrested four teens for killing a mother outside her Vista Villa apartment.

Police say Maria Echeverria de Gomez was on her way to work when teenagers tried to rob her and ended up shooting her.

“If you are not home and paying kids any attention, then they are getting attention from the streets,” said Adams. “And the streets are not friendly.”

He needs more volunteers to go to schools, have lunch with the kids, build a bond,
get them involved in their community.

“The more active you are in the community, the more they see that they cannot get away with certain things,” said Adams. “The more they’re willing to think about it before they even do it.”

Team Trublue says if you are concerned about your kid getting into trouble, you’re not getting through to them, they can help. Click here to contact them.
