CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Potential Carolina Panthers owner Ben Navarro wants Peyton Manning to join his ownership group bidding to buy the team.
Details of the offer are scarce but reports indicate the two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback would be a limited partner in the organization.
Manning, 42, is rumored to have turned down offers to be an analyst for ESPN and the NFL Network, preferring to find a management or ownership position in the NFL.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback retired in 2016 after 17 seasons following Super Bowl 50 where the Denver Broncos defeated the Panthers.
The Charleston based billionaire Navarro, 54, has reportedly made a bid of $2.6 billion to buy the Panthers and is considered to be the favorite to purchase the team from current owner Jerry Richardson.
