Traffic Stop Leads To Major Meth Bust In Rowan County
ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — Investigators say a traffic stop ended with two people facing serious drug charges.
Deputies reportedly stopped a vehicle on Fraley Street in Salisbury just before 8pm on May 17th. Deputies discovered an open container in the vehicle. Due to an ongoing investigation, detectives say they had probable cause to believe that the occupants of the vehicle were trafficking meth from Georgia to North Carolina.
A passenger in the vehicle, Brock Rowe, was removed from the vehicle. Investigators say when he got out of the vehicle a clear plastic bag containing approximately one half ounce of cocaine fell from his pants.
Another passenger in the vehicle, Ashley Sanders, reportedly had a plastic bag containing approximately 280 grams of meth and two plastic bags containing 60 grams of marijuana in her purse, according to a news release.
The driver, Jonathan Patton, was issued a citation for driving while license revoked and failure to use a turn signal.
Rowe and Sanders were charged with trafficking meth by possession and transportation, possess with intent to sell/deliver cocaine and possess with intent to sell/deliver marijuana.
