Charlotte Boy Turns Lemons Into Money For Charity

CHARLOTTE, NC.– A nine-year-old Charlotte boy is raising money to help find a cure for a deadly disease. He’s raised thousands of dollars, and his fundraising is pretty sweet.

You’ve probably heard the expression — when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. A saying nine-year-old Quint Ulchar has taken literally.

Quint’s cousin, Elizabeth, has Cystic Fibrosis. It’s a genetic disease that causes lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time.

“She’s the main reason I made my stand,” says Quint.

Quint spends his weekends in front of his mom’s frame shop on Park Road or at other business, selling his lemonade and raising money to find a cure.

“There’s a lot of bad things in this world today, and helping, knowing that you’re doing something good makes you feel good.”

In just one lemonade stand on Saturday, he raised more than $900. He plans to have another pop-up lemonade stand in the next month.
