Mooresville Attorney Arrested On Meth Charges

MOORESVILLE, N.C. — Deputies say they arrested an attorney from Mooresville on drug charges while searching his home for a man wanted on felony arrest warrants.

Investigators say they were at Brian Harwell’s home on Rinehardt Road on July 26th trying to locate Stephen Styron.  Deputies said they received information that Styron was possibly living at Harwell’s home.

While at the home, Harwell gave deputies consent to search for Styron.  During the search, deputies say they found pipes used to smoke meth.  A further search ended in the seizure of 3.3 grams of meth, according to a news release.

Harwell, who is a local attorney, has been charged with felony possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.  His bond was set at $5,000.

A short time after Harwell’s arrest, deputies located Styron and arrested him.  During his arrest, deputies say they found 8.2 grams of meth and paraphernalia.

Styron has been charged with felony possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.  His bond was set at $15,000.  Styron reportedly has an extensive criminal history.
