Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Drug Arrest In Iredell County

HARMONY, N.C. — Officials say a traffic stop for a registration plate violation ended in a felony drug arrest.

Investigators say they stopped a 2004 Dodge that was being driven by 45-year-old Garland Hartsoe II on West Memorial Highway on July 29th.  The detective determined that Hartsoe had outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants for his arrest.

Hartsoe was taken into custody and detectives say a search of his vehicle led them to finding 12 grams of cocaine, 11.4 grams of marijuana, five pain pills and drug paraphernalia.

Hartsoe was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, felony maintaining a dwelling for the use or sale of a controlled substance, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana paraphernalia and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was given a $10,000 bond.
