Jury Rules NASCAR Driver Greg Biffle Intruded Ex-Wive’s Privacy, Awards Her A Single Dollar
CHARLOTTE, NC -A win for both sides in the salacious civil case against former NASCAR driver Greg Biffle. On Monday, a jury ruled Biffle intruded his ex-wive’s privacy back in 2015 by putting hidden cameras in her bedroom and bathroom. It wasn’t a complete loss for Biffle who was being sued for $9 million dollars.
“We walk away looking at this as a victory for Mrs. Biffle,” said Aaron Lay, the attorney for Nicole Biffle following the jury’s decision.
“I spent three and a half years fighting this battle and I’m just glad that it’s over,” said Greg Biffle expressing relief.
Biffle maintains that he set up the cameras to catch maids he believed were stealing from him and that Nicole Biffle was aware of the cameras placement.
“The biggest thing was all the false accusations,” said Biffle, “that’s probably more damaging.”
While the jury sided with Nicole Biffle in the case, they only awarded her $1 dollar. She was seeking damages of $9 million dollars.
“In my humble opinion they gave a dollar more than they should of,” said John Buric, Greg Biffle’s attorney.
“I think Nicole Biffle overplayed her hand,” continued Buric, “I think that the jury saw that and saw her for what she was.”
Meanwhile, Nicole Biffle’s attorney brushed off the dollar amount.
“She has said this entire time that it is not about the money,” said Aaron Lay, “it’s about him being held accountable and we believe that he was finally held accountable for what he has done to her.”
With most of the court fighting in the rear view mirror, Biffle says he’s now focused on his future in NASCAR.
“I’m certainly looking forward to being back possibly behind the wheel or back at the race track doing some stuff,” said Biffle.
A punitive damages hearing is scheduled for next Monday.
