Criminal Summons Issued For Driver Accused Of Tethering Dog To Cargo Carrier Behind Jeep

HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. — Police with the Huntersville Police Department say they have issued a criminal summons against the driver of a blue Jeep that had a dog tethered to a cargo rack at the Chick-Fil-A in Huntersville last week.

Police say they received a second call in reference to the same vehicle traveling down a roadway in Huntersville on August 13th with the same dog tethered to the rear cargo carrier.  Officers reportedly responded to the area but did not see the vehicle.

Police say they have identified the driver and attempted to make contact with them but their attempts were unsuccessful.

The driver could be facing a misdemeanor charge for conveying animals in a cruel manner.  Anyone with information related to the whereabouts of the vehicle or the driver is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 704-896-7867.
