Security System Helps Rowan County Deputies Catch Breaking And Entering Suspects

ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. — A home security system reportedly helps deputies catch two breaking and entering suspects in Rowan County.

A 911 call was placed around 12pm on August 17th in reference to a break-in on Earnhardt Road.  The homeowner told deputies they were watching the suspects on a live feed from the security system’s cameras.  The homeowner was able to give a detailed description of the suspects while they were inside the residence, according to a news release.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they say a black Ford Focus was parked in the driveway and one of the suspects was seen running out of the house.  After a short chase, deputies were able to locate both suspects and placed them under arrest.

The suspects have been identified has Reginald Davis Jr. and Dasan Villegas.  Both men are from Charlotte, according to a news release.

The vehicle parked in the driveway was registered to Davis and deputies say it had stolen property in the back seat.

The suspects are accused of stealing electronics, firearms and jewelry from the house.  Villegas has been charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny of a firearm and resisting arrest.  He was given a $202,500 bond.

Davis has been charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, 11 counts of larceny of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and resisting arrest.  He was given a $260,000 bond.

All stolen items from the home were returned to the homeowner.
