Wilson’s World: Previewing the 2018 Charlotte Charlotte Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was in Uptown this morning previewing the 8th annual Charlotte Firefighters 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb which will be held this weekend.
The annual Charlotte 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb is held each year to raise funds for the National Fallen Firefighters Association. NFFA along with the FDNY raise awareness as well as funds to honor the fire fighters who were lost during the tragedy on 9/11 and to support their families. This Saturday fully geared up firefighters and supporters climb up the floors of the Duke Energy Building in Uptown. The climbers will represent the 343 firefighters, 60 law enforcement and 10 EMS personnel who perished on September 11, 2001. Each participant will be walking or climbing the equivalent of the 110 floors of each twin tower.
During today’s program Wells Fargo presented a $10,000 check to the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation.
The Charlotte 2018 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb begins with onsite registration at 7am with the climb beginning at 8:30am. Online registration has closed, but climbers can still register on site the day of the climb. More information about the Charlotte 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb can be found HERE.
If you can’t climb, come and cheer on the climbers as they take on the Duke Energy Building in Uptown.
