Police Release Photos Of Possible Suspect Vehicle In Cornelius Homicide

CORNELIUS, N.C. — Police release new traffic camera photos of what is believed to be the suspect vehicle connected to a September 3rd homicide.

Just before midnight, officers with the Cornelius Police Department were called to the Admirals Quarters complex off Nautical Drive where they found 45-year-old Marc Mays dead in the parking area from gunshot wounds.

According to a report, another victim and witness say Mays was shot during a robbery. Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide.

The vehicle is described as a dark green/blue green colored mid-size SUV with a loud exhaust, possibly due a mechanical issue. Police say the vehicle also appears to have a non-working center brake light.

The driver is described as a bald black male in his mid-20’s. The passenger is described as a black male, mid-20’s, with scruffy facial hair and wearing a dark colored hoodie.

Police say a $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the findings and arrests of the suspects and/or suspect vehicle.
