Wilson’s World: Operation North State Mobilizing Disaster Relief for Hurricane Victims
Operation North State's disaster relief trucks will be at Concord Mills through Sept 24th collecting items to be delivered to hurricane victims in the eastern part of North Carolina.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Operation North State is a wonderful non-profit military support services organization which offers programs for N.C.’s deployed troops, veterans, and veterans in need. But today they were with Wilson outside Concord Mills where they were mobilizing their disaster relief trucks to get them filled for supplies for the victims of Hurricane Florence in the eastern part of our state.
Terry Snyder with Operation North State joined Wilson to talk about their mission and all of the supplies they need to fill their trucks. Terry calls their mission “phase two.” They are looking for items such as water, cleaning supplies, toiletries, personal hygiene items, and even pet food.
Operation North State’s disaster relief trucks will be at Concord Mills in the parking area in front of Bass Pro Shop from 9am until 6:30pm each day filling their trucks through next Monday, September 24th. On Tuesday morning they will then be heading toward the eastern part of the state to 2 National Guard Armories where they will be distributing the items.
Bass Pro Shops has also been a large help during the hurricane. Last Thursday that sent an entire truckload of john boats for search and rescue use and are preparing another truckload today for emergency workers that need one. Call Bass Pro Shops at 704-979-2200 and ask for Eric.
Concord Mills is now open regular mall hours.
