CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man has been charged with attempted kidnapping after police say he grabbed two children in east Charlotte.
On Friday October 5th, 2018, at about 7:41 p.m., officers responded to a call in the 3200 block of Amity Pointe Road.
Witnesses say Jose Lemus Rodriguez, 55, approached a group of children playing in the parking lot of an apartment complex and grabbed an 8-year-old and 10-year-old child by the wrist before letting them go when witnesses confronted him.

Rodriguez fled the area but officers located him a short time after the incident. He was charged with tow counts of Attempted Kidnapping.
