Wilson’s World: Kicking off Homecoming Weekend with the Charlotte 49ers at UNCC

CHARLOTTE, N.C. –  Wilson was enjoying some tailgating fun with UNCC 49ers Niner Nation fans, alumni, and coaches to kick off this weekend’s “gold standard” UNCC 49ers 2018 Homecoming weekend.  And even the youngest fans were having a great time.

Mike Hill, Athletics Director joined Wilson to show off the new gold helmets that the players will be wearing for the first time on Saturday.  The gold helmets represent the “Gold Standard” that Director Hill wants to have within the athletics at UNC Charlotte.

UNC Charlotte’s Homecoming is only 6 years old, but has now become a fall tradition for Niner Nation.  One of the fans having some fun with Wilson was former Carolina Panther Kevin Donnelly, who said he was stopping by to crash Wilson’s World.  James Adams, the assistant head football coach joined Wilson to talk about the team and the upcoming game.

Homecoming fun actually begins tonight from 6-9pm with a block party in the quad outside of Atkins Library with music and food trucks. Saturday at 3:30pm the 49ers take on Western Kentucky University in their first home football game in 3 weeks.  But come early and enjoy the great fall weather while having tailgating fun.

Tickets are still available for tomorrow’s homecoming game.  For game day and ticket info check out their website at charlotte49ers.com.
