Wilson’s World: At Sleepy Poet Picking Up an Ugly Holiday Sweater for the Kimble Foundation Ugly Sweater Contest

The Ugly Sweater Contest to benefit the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage will be on Thursday, November 29th from 7:30pm to 9pm at the Charlotte Christmas Village.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson loves hanging out at the Sleepy Poet Antigue Mall  on South Blvd in Charlotte and cruising down the aisle of the over 60,000 square feet of antiques, vintage and home decor items.  Today he stopped back in to choose a brand new ugly holiday sweater for the upcoming Ugly Sweater Contest to support the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage.

Wilson was joined at Sleepy Poet by Ron Kimble the founder of the Jamie Kimble Foundation and our old friend Riley Fields with the Carolina Panthers…all three in their finest holiday sweater attire.   Ron and Riley talked about the importance of the foundation and supporting its mission.

Founded by Ron Kimble in honor of his daughter Jamie, who was shot and killed by her abusive ex-boyfriend whom the left 3 months earlier, the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage was created to bring education, awareness, prevention and training young people the warning signs of abuse.

On Thursday, November 29th you can kick off the holidays head uptown the Charlotte Christmas Village.  Enjoy the Annual Uptown Tree Lighting and then have a little holiday fun in the heated hospitality tent with an Ugly Holiday Sweater Contest.   Your ticket gains you entrance into the event (and the contest, if you’re festive!), a mug or pint glass, a non alcoholic beverage of your choice.  Ticket sales for the contest go to support the Jamie Kimble Foundation for Courage.  Admission to the Christmas Village is free, but tickets are needed for the Ugly Sweater contest and entrance to the hospitality tent and supplies are limited.  To purchase tickets and find out more about the Ugly Sweater Contest check out the Eventbrite weblink HERE.
