Wilson’s World: Previewing The 5th Annual Panthers Tree Lighting Event

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Wilson and some friends were all lit up this morning in Uptown Charlotte, wearing their fancy, football Christmas sweaters as they gave us a look into the 5th annual Carolina Panthers Tree Lighting that will be held Tuesday, Nov. 20th.

Thousands of people show up every year for this yearly, holiday tradition that includes lots of fun for families and their children.

Festivities start at 6 p.m. with the program beginning at 7 p.m. The celebration is free of charge and takes place outside Bank of America Stadium on the corner of Mint Street and Graham Street.

Panthers fans and anyone who attends can enjoy appearances by Sir Purr, the TopCats Cheerleaders, the PurrCussion Drumline and the Black & Blue Crew. The tree lighting ceremony program will also include performances featuring the USO Show Troupe.

Attendees will be treated to an evening that includes children’s activities, holiday movies, festive music and a special visit from Santa Claus. The event will conclude with the tree lighting ceremony for the 57-foot tall Concolor Fur Tree from Winston Salem, N.C.

Bottled water and hot cocoa will be available free of charge. If you’re hungry, local food trucks, such as TIN Kitchen, Comfort Food on Wheels, Cremoso Cheesecakes, New Wrap Order and Oak City Fish & Chips, will be on site selling delicious food!

Fans are encouraged to bring an unwrapped gift as the Marines will be on-hand collecting donations as part of their annual “Toys For Tots” program.
