Shoppers Not Wasting Any Time On Thanksgiving

CHARLOTTE, NC. —  It’s still Thanksgiving day, but shoppers are not wasting any time. Hundreds of people rushed to snag those deals.

CMPD says they’ll have extra officers patrolling major retail areas.

Thanksgiving food not even digested, winding lines with hundreds waiting. Everyone wants to snag a steal.

At the Best Buy near Northlake Mall, shoppers weaved to grab discounted gadgets.

Meanwhile at  Kohl’s in Concord, shopping for all ages.

“We decided to come out as a family because there are a lot of good deals and we wanted to take advantage of everything we had. It was so nice that they opened early so I could bring my daughter,” says shopper Samantha Meier.

Industry experts say Thanksgiving day sales are expected to increase by over 16 percent compared to last year.

CMPD says each division will utilize holiday overtime. They stress: if you see something, say something. Any suspicious activity should be reported. Many crimes of opportunity happen around the holidays. Make sure you’re watching your merchandise, and double check you’ve locked your car.
