CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police say a suspect turned himself in following a shooting at a west Charlotte apartment Friday night.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says officers responded to a shooting in the 600 block of Fairwood Avenue at about 8:45 on Friday night.
Officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside an apartment. Investigators say the shooting occurred on the porch of the apartment. MEDIC transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Shortly thereafter, at about 8:55 p.m., a man called the CMPD and told police he had just shot the victim. Detectives located the suspect at a business in the 100 block of Remount Road. Authorities say the suspect and victim are acquaintances.
