Armed Robberies And Police Chase–Five Teens Charged In Connection

CHARLOTTE, NC. — Two armed robberies and a police chase in East Charlotte. Five teenagers are charged in connection to those crimes. Four of them are behind bars.

An attempted traffic stop, turning into a police chase. Five teenagers in the car as it smashed into several other vehicles at Eastway Drive near Shamrock Drive Wednesday night.

The suspects: 17-year-old Kaiterrance Moore, 16-year-olds Jamaree Edwards, Tajhier Ordde and Kadijah Whitlock. They face a number of charges, including robbery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a stolen vehicle. A 14-year-old boy is charged with resisting arrest.

“It was almost a thrill just to get in someone’s vehicle, point a gun at them and take their vehicle and other belongings,” says CMPD Sgt. Brian Scharf.

Police say their crime spree began Saturday. One of the suspects got into a 34-year-old man’s car at East W T Harris Boulevard, then forced the victim to drive two miles at gunpoint. The suspect then told him to get out and drove away.

On Tuesday, police say two suspects robbed a 17-year-old at gunpoint in the parking lot of Independence Regional Library.

Police say there were no injuries.
