Man Arrested After Complaints Regarding Illegal Drug Activity At Lincoln County Home

VALE, NC — A Lincoln County man is facing multiple charges after deputies arrested him following complaints of illegal drug activity.

George Hayes, Sr., 47, was arrested shortly before 10am on Tuesday after detectives executed search warrants on his Cansler Road home. Authorities say the warrants were obtained after an investigation into complaints of illegal drug activity at the home.

During the search, detectives say they seized around 224 grams of methamphetamine, 27 grams of opioids, several types of drug paraphernalia, and small bags used for the sale and distribution of controlled substances.

Hayes is charged with one felony count each of trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance and possession with the intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a controlled substance Schedule II. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count each of possession of hydrocodone and possession of drug paraphernalia.
