Wilson’s World: Helping CMPD AC&C Make Their Adoption Goal Before the End of the Year

CMPD Animal Care & Control is looking for well deserving homes for 500 of their residents before the end of the year.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – It was cuteness overload this morning with dog and puppies, cats and kittens while Wilson was visiting CMPD Animal Care and Control.  Melissa Knicely with CMPD AC&C joined Wilson to talk about their current campaign to get 500 pets adopted by the end of 2018.  The campaign began on Black Friday and as of this morning they have found deserving homes for 371 of their pets, but they need to find homes for 129 more.

Melissa gave us the opportunity to meet some of the sweet dogs that are at the shelter.  Wilson even dealt with a runny nose and watery eyes to introduce us to some of the cats and kittens that are up for adoption as well as some of the more interesting pets they have such as rabbits, hamsters and gerbils.

And, if you want to get a pet as a gift for someone…why not pick up a gift certificate to let them come in and pick out their pet.  Gift certificates purchased by Christmas are good until June…plenty of time to pick out a perfect pet.

CMPD AC&C needs to adopt out 11 animals a day.  Now is the time to stop in if you are looking for a furry friend.  For more information on any of the pets from today’s show and to find out more about CMPD Animal Care & Control, check out their website HERE or follow them on Facebook at @animalscmpd.  You are also welcome to stop the shelter which is located at 8315 Byrum Drive to visit with the animals.
