Wilson’s World: The Community Toolbank Helping Boy Scouts Prepare for the Pinewood Derby
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wilson was at the Charlotte Community Toolbank this morning where they were getting ready to help out area Boy Scouts prepare their cars for the upcoming Mecklenburg County Boy Scout’s Pinewood Derby.
Maureen Krueger, Executive Director of the Charlotte Community Toolbank joined Wilson to talk about the toolbank and the upcoming Pinewood Derby Build Day at the toolbank. Wilson surprised Maureen this morning when he presented her with his latest Wilson’s Moment of Good Award sponsored by One Hour Heating & Air Condition.
On Saturday, January 26th, Boy Scouts from the Mecklenburg County Council can visit the toolbank and build their own Pinewood Derby car from start to finish. Volunteers will be at the toolbank helping the scouts design, cut, sand, add weight and paint a Derby car. $15 per Derby Car will give the Scout everything they need including the kit and tools. Scouts must register for the Derby day at the toolbank and be accompanied by a parent, guardian or scout leader when they come in to build their car. Derby day will last from 9am until 2:30pm. Register your Scout for Pinewood Derby Build Day HERE. Volunteers are needed to help the scouts create their cars. Volunteers can check out the Charlotte Toolbank website HERE.
