Tracking Weekend Storm, Below Average Temperatures Continue
Clouds will thicken Saturday with highs in the low to mid 40s. Although a few rain or snow showers are possible, most of Saturday will remain dry. Rain will overspread the area Saturday night before gradually tapering off Sunday. Areas north and west of Charlotte will see a wintry mix. The best chance for accumulating snow/sleet/freezing rain will be in the foothills and mountains. Mountain communities can expect 1-4 inches of snow, depending on elevation, with some ice accumulations, totals will quickly diminish down through i-40. The storm will gradually move away Sunday with mostly dry conditions returning next week. Temperatures will remain below average.
