CMPD: Woman Identified In Fatal Shooting Stemming From Domestic Violence Assault
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Police have identified the woman who was shot and killed in east Charlotte Monday afternoon.
Officers with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department were called around 2 p.m. to a home on Great Laurel Road near I-485.
CMPD says 27-year-old Tulvel Denise McDougald was found inside the home with a gunshot wound.
Medic pronounced her dead on scene. Her family has been notified of her death.
Officers say the shooting appears to be the result of a domestic violence assault.
A person of interest was also detained and is cooperating with investigators, according to CMPD. No other suspects are being sought at this time.
