Novant Health: Reducing The Risk Of Heart Disease In Women

February is American Heart Month and for good reason.

A woman dies of cardiovascular disease every 80 seconds; it is the number one killer of women in the world, taking more lives than all forms of cancer combined.

Dr. Sandy Charles, a cardiologist from Novant Health Heart & Vascular Institute, stopped by Rising to talk about heart disease in women and what you need to know.

Charles lays out the signs and symptoms to lookout for, such as fatigue, anxiety, shortness of breath and nausea, and what you can do to prevent the risk of heart disease.

Women, never ignore what you’re feeling. Tell your doctor!
