STATESVILLE, NC — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office says a forestry worker found the body of a man missing since January 16th.
Deputies say 29-year-old Benny Randolph II was last seen by family members on January 16th and reported missing two days later. His body was reportedly found in a wooded area off Eufola Road on Wednesday.
The location was in a direction opposite of where he was believed to have traveled, deputies say.
Randolph’s family told deputies he was acting paranoid and “seeing things which weren’t there” when he went missing. Officials say he may have been under the influence of a controlled substance.
Investigators say there are no signs of foul play and no obvious indicators of the cause of death.
His body has been taken to the North Carolina Baptist Hospital for an autopsy.
