CMPD Investigating Deadly Shooting, Car Crash In Southeast Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —  Detectives are trying to piece together the events that preceded a deadly shooting in Mint Hill and a motor vehicle accident in southeast Charlotte.

The CMPD says on Saturday at about 4:53 p.m., officers initially responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 4100 block of Bathurst Drive in southeast Charlotte.

Officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound inside an SUV.  The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators have determined the shooting actually occurred in the 4700 block of Margaret Wallace Drive before the driver of the SUV drove to Bathurst Drive.
