CHARLOTTE, NC — Today marks the start of Mecklenburg County Child Support Enforcement Department’s (MCCSE) 2nd Chance Amnesty Week. This event offers an opportunity for non-custodial parents to talk with their caseworker, make payment arrangements and get back on track with child support payments without the fear of being arrested.
The event runs through Feb. 23 and is free and open to the public. Attendees should be prepared to make at least one month of the child support payment amount due, and one payment of $25 or more toward the past due amount.
MCCSE has seen great success during past events. Starting in fall 2016 and as recently as spring 2018, more than $30,000 in child support has been collected for children in the County.
2nd Chance Amnesty Week is being held at the MCCSE offices at 5800 Executive Center Drive, Suite 200, Charlotte. The dates and times are listed below:
- Monday, Feb. 18 – Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
