On February 14th, 2019, between 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., police say Shannon approached the 18-year-old victim and asked for money as the victim walked out of the Quick Trip gas station located at 990 S. Cherry Road in Rock Hill.

After the victim stated he did not have money to give, Shannon then asked for a ride.  The victim told Shannon that he needed to go to work in the direction of Rock Hill High School and could not provide Shannon with a ride.

Shannon then said he needed a ride in the direction of Rock Hill High School, but the victim again declined.

According to police, once the victim entered his vehicle, Shannon opened the front passenger door and ordered the victim to take him to the Wells Fargo ATM at 814 Cherry Road.

The victim stated that while he was driving, he noticed a black handgun inside Shannon’s jacket.  Shannon did not make any verbal threats or speak until they arrived at the ATM, according to the victim.  Once they arrived at the ATM, Shannon told the suspect to get four $20 bills out of the machine.

The victim told police he already had one $20 bill in his wallet and removed two more $20 bills from the ATM and gave Shannon $60 total in cash.

Shannon then directed the victim to drive to the Post Office located at 206 S. Wilson Street.  The victim complied with the request and dropped Shannon off at the Post Office before continuing to his work place.

Shannon is due in court on Friday, February 20th, 2019.
