The victim has been identified as 42-year-old Otis Lucas Jr.
The CMPD has charged Marchell Michelle Bright-Walters, 47, with Voluntary Manslaughter.

CHARLOTTE,N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after a man was found shot to death near NoDa.
On Saturday, February 23rd, 2019, at about 12:15 a.m., CMPD officers responded to call for service in the 200 block of Matheson Avenue.
Arriving officers located a man suffering from a gunshot wound on the side of the road. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
CMPD has not identified any suspects. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective. Detective Fitch isthe lead detective assigned to the case. The public can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
