CMPD Identifies One Victim In Shooting Near S. Charlotte Country Club

One victim has been identified as 51-year-old Matthew Allen Chaplin.  The CMPD says they are currently not identifying the 15-year-old juvenile victim.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department is investigating after two people were killed and another person was seriously injured in a south Charlotte shooting overnight.

On Sunday February, 24th, about 3:53 a.m. Officers responded to a call for service in the 114000 block of Glenn Abbey Way in the Providence Country Club subdivision.

Arriving officers located a man and woman with apparent gunshot wounds inside the residence. MEDIC pronounced them both dead at the scene.

Officers located a third person suffering from a gunshot inside the residence and MEDIC transported the subject to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

The CMPD says they are not looking for any additional suspects.

The case is under investigation and more information will be released as it develops.
